Planning Your Visit
Accessing the Mohican Wilderness Park is simple and convenient. Make your way to 22462 Wally Road in Glenmont, Ohio to enjoy your experience. The Mohican Wilderness Park is located just 9 miles south of Loudonville. Here, visitors will find a spacious and inviting campground as well as ample outdoor space to explore. This makes it simple to customize your day of adventure according to preference and exploration interests of all types. The Mohican Wilderness Park and campground is open from April through October and the on-site office hours are Sunday through Wednesday from 9:00 am until 8:00 pm, Thursday and Saturday from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm, and Fridays from 9:00 am until 10:00 pm.
Activities to Enjoy While You’re Here
There are a variety of activities guests can enjoy when they make their way to the Mohican Wilderness Park. Horseback riding is offered here through the PELIA Equine Programs and hayrides are available as well as experiences that take you 8 miles along the scenic Mohican River Valley over the course of an hour. There’s a mini-golf course set up in the wilderness park for those who are looking forward to a bit of friendly competition surrounded by great scenery. There are also archery areas set up and a swimming pond and beach to enjoy when you’re looking to cool off. The Mohican Wilderness Park is home to a variety of bike trails to explore on two wheels with maps readily available at the office when you’re looking to plan your route. Canoeing is a great way to spend an afternoon here while birding and picnicking are equally enjoyable activities to add to your outdoor recreation agenda. Kayaking and tubing excursions are offered on the Mohican River at the park with options to customize your adventure to a shorter 2-mile float, or a 20-mile canoe trip upon request!
Each year, the Mohican Wilderness Park proudly hosts the Mohican Wilderness Bluegrass Festival much to the delight of locals and visitors alike. This family-friendly event is held in September at the Grand Log Stage in the valley near the river. Over the course of three days, festival-goers can enjoy food vendors on-site, craft tents, kid’s activities, and live music too. It’s a fun and friendly experience that’s well worth enjoying when you’re in town. Single-day tickets start at $20 with three-day passes available for $70 per person.
