See What Our Guests Are Saying!

So many memories have been made in the walls of our inn and out and about in the nearby towns. One of our favorite things about being innkeepers is having the opportunity to create long-lasting memories for our guests and offer them some much-needed respiteWe love hearing what was most special to each of them! Here are just a handful of past guest reviews that touched us the most.

\”Lovely Environment\”

The food here is worth the stay on its own, in addition to the lovely environment that the White Oak Inn offers. Seriously, I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful the dining experience here is. It is a dry county, so bring your own wine! But they will serve you everything you need to enjoy your alcohol at no charge. The dining service is impeccable, and the staff is so friendly, especially the hosts Yvonne and Martin. I really cannot say enough good things about The White Oak Inn, it is a very unique experience like no other.

\”Amazing Experience\”

Charming bed and breakfast near Ohio\’s Amish Country. Run by the cutest couple, well-maintained accommodations both in the main inn as well as several cabins and cottages around the property! The food they serve is some of the best I have ever tasted, definitely recommend adding on a dinner to your stay. And the beds are like sleeping on clouds! Have stayed with them twice now. The first was for a murder mystery dinner that was an amazing experience. I cannot say enough about how great this BnB is and cant wait until we can go again!!

\”Off-the-Treadmill Feel\”

Very tranquil with fantastic breakfasts and tasty (optional) dinners. In a world where everyone is racing around, The White Oak Inn was perfect for its acreage, tranquility, and \”off-the-treadmill\” feel after our very hectic and sometimes harrowing time in Chicago. In addition to Yvonne\’s great meals, it is also perfect if you really do want to NOT answer your phone or other devices. We have visited several times and look forward to our next visit.

\”Heartfelt Care\”

Beautiful, old, well-maintained property. A quiet hidden sanctuary with active birdhouses, feeders, and cheerful morning birdsong and nature sounds. Thank you for being dog friendly– my pooch Rainy was comfy here. Friendly, attentive, accommodating innkeepers, and helpful staff! Food was prepared with heartfelt care. I loved the variety of meal type choices! Hot and hearty courses in the communal dining room or fresh substantial picnic baskets served outdoors in the screen room, porch, or your own room. Awesome pottery pieces in the main house!! A perfect relaxing getaway– thank you, Yvonne, Ian, and staff for a much-needed respite!!!

\”Quaint and Perfect\”

Upon entry, we quickly smelled chocolate chip cookies that must have been fresh out of the oven. Ian showed us to our room- The Walnut and it was quaint and perfect for a quick stay. The king-size bed was very comfortable and had the most luxurious sheets – which we learned you can actually purchase sets of. We quickly made the jaunt into town to grab a bottle of wine for dinner (you can bring your own and Ian/Yvonne will gladly serve at dinner) and headed back to enjoy the most delicious meal.

Do not pass up this off the beaten path destination. Ian and Yvonne make you feel as though you are at home. It would be great for couples visiting Amish Country or a girls’ weekend shopping trip. And because the accommodations are plentiful with the cabins and guest house, this could easily host wedding guests or a bridal party.

Don’t forget to grab one of Yvonne’s recipe books on your way out! A big thank you to both of them for making this such an enjoyable stay.

\”Nourishing for the Soul\”

Innkeepers Yvonne and Ian have recreated a snapshot from the past in this quiet, wooded glen perched on the edge of the Kokosing River valley with soft beds, excellent breakfasts, a wide front porch, and a snug common room. Combined with the modern amenities any travelers needs, the Inn has charm and romance, enhanced by the fireplaces in some of the cottages. Author of several cookbooks, Yvonne produces a breakfast that is creative, delicious, and satisfying. If one asks nicely, a picnic package that can only be described as both sumptuous and gourmet may be arranged, to take with you or enjoy right on the grounds in the screened-in pergola or the pillared gazebo. The White Oak Inn is welcoming — good for sleep, for the cuisine, and nourishing for the soul.
