Below, you will find a comprehensive guide to navigating Roscoe Village during the holidays, but if you are looking for more ways to spend your winter vacation, download our free Amish Country Vacation Guide. It is full of recommendations on restaurants, shopping, events, and more.

The Best Roscoe Village Christmas Activities

The Candlelighting Ceremony

The Christmas Candlelighting Ceremony is a beloved holiday tradition. Every year, families and friends gather as the 30-foot Christmas tree comes to life with brilliant lights in Roscoe Village. If you plan to attend, remember to bring your own candle! As flickering candles light up one-by-one, the calming sounds of “Silent Night” are sung among the crowd. During the day, before the lighting, you can enjoy visits with Santa Claus, complimentary cider and cookies, and plenty of holiday cheer!

A Roscoe Christmas Tour

The Christmas tours at Roscoe Village are another great holiday tradition. There are two tours available: the “Roscoe Christmas\” Tour by day and the Lantern Tour by night. During this tour, you will take a stroll through the historic village and learn how Christmas was celebrated in the 1800s. You will also learn about food traditions, what Christmas was like in school, and even where Santa Claus came from! At the end of each tour, visitors receive the special gift of a holiday card and a few scrumptious treats.

Other Holiday Activities at Roscoe Village

If you are planning a trip to the Candlelighting Ceremony or one of the tours in Roscoe Village, we recommend arriving early to enjoy everything that the village offers. One of our favorite activities is browsing the boutique shops for one-of-a-kind gifts. The streets are often filled with Christmas carolers and many of the local restaurants offer special holiday menus.
