Here it is, the Heart of Amish Country! This township, located in Holmes County, is a part of one of the largest Amish communities in the world! The place is packed with antique-style craft stores and shopping centers, like Shrock’s Heritage Village, where you can explore the trades and crafts of the local Amish community.

Explore Amish Heritage at Behalt

This unique cultural and educational experience puts you in front of a 10-foot-tall, 650-foot-wide mural depicting the history and origins of Amish and Mennonite culture. The center also offers half-hour tours with knowledgeable guides throughout the whole experience.

Explore more goods and Antiques in Walnut Creek

See some more of the local culture in Amish country with a trip to the nearby Walnut Creek, sitting less than ten minutes up the road from Berlin. One of the sweetest ‘must-sees’ in the area is Coblentz Chocolate Company, an old-fashioned candy store that makes all its treats by hand and in-house. If you’re still trying to shop for more locally produced goods, head over to the Walnut Creek Antique Market. Find everything from unique decor and furniture to rare and valuable goods at this shop! Staff is also on-site to help you make decisions and to inform you about the cultural significance of the items.
