3 Ways to Be Thankful This Thanksgiving in Amish Country

Mount Vernon Christmas Walk and Parade

Capping off the Thanksgiving weekend is one of the most delightful of all holiday events, the Mount Vernon Christmas Walk and Parade. This festive event fills the historic downtown streets with the smells of roasting nuts and an air of celebration. You’ll find the lighting of the greens on Public Square, which is a delightful parade with marching bands, floats, and classic cars. You can also expect special activities that benefit the town’s annual “Food for the Hungry” drive, a carousel, and train rides for kids.

Go Gift Shopping in Mount Vernon!

This day is also a great time to get ahead on your gift list with a little holiday shopping in Mount Vernon’s one-of-a-kind stores. You’ll find unique gifts that are true and authentic to the area, while also supporting small businesses! Plus, this is a beautiful area and great for taking photos and admiring the festive decorations!

Enjoy Thanksgiving at The White Oak Inn

Looking for a festive, traditional Thanksgiving celebration without the hassle of cooking and hosting? You’ll find just that at The White Oak Inn this year! You can relax, tour the area, and feast on a very special meal created by our very own Innkeeper Yvonne who has even published her own cookbooks! After a fun-filled day, head back to the Inn and ease into the evening with a glass of wine from a local winery, and relax by the fire. We can’t think of a more perfect ending to a great holiday weekend! Check our holiday availability to get one step closer to planning your most memorable Thanksgiving celebration yet.
